Great success at the For the Love of Sharks Event

Excited Shark Conservationists!

This weekend we had over 100 divers and non-divers participating in our PADI/Project AWARE For the Love of Sharks event hosted in Umkomaas, KZN, South Africa. We had 12 PADI dive centres and over 50 divers involved in this special first of its kind shark event.

In cooperation with Project AWARE and PADI dive centres in South Africa, the event was a great success.

Its clear by choosing PADI you are choosing to be part of an organization that care about conservation, an organization that gives back to the nature in ways of education and protecting.
NO other diving organization in the world comes close to the contributions and efforts that PADI and Project AWARE does for marine conservation. Project AWARE has been around for 25 years...We know conservation!

We would like to give a special big thank you to the Umkomaas Primary School for hosting this event and organizing a shark drawing competition among the 3rd graders.

A big thank you to all the SA dive centres who participated and traveled all the way to Umkomaas for this event, and of course to all the PADI dive centres in Umkomaas (Blue Ocean Dive Resort - Aliwal ShoalAliwal Dive CentreAliwal Shoal Scuba Scubaco Diving & Travel for hosting the event and dives.

PADI would also like extended a huge Thank you to Lesley Rochat PADI Ambassadiver, for supporting this event with her time and inspiring talk on shark conservation.

Be Best, Be PADI
